Any tennis fans will know how tense the Wimbledon Final was in 2013 between Murray and Novak Djokovic? However this was unbelievable!
You can view this film at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle.
The fantastic cast included Sverrir Gudnason as Borg and our Transformers side kick, Shia Labeouf as the highly ecstatic and young McEnroe. Gudnason and his ice cold, controlled expressions were perfect for the role. It was alongside his flawless complexion that made him realistic. His likeliness to Borg’s photos from the 1970s and 80s made them look like identical twins.
The same went for Labeouf who had the same crazy afro hair (trendy in those days) that McEnroe had. It made us wonder how they managed it so well…. any styling tips?
The greatest match between two of the greatest tennis players: Borg McEnroe. A king of championships vs a new comer who would unknowingly change tennis forever.
You would be disappointed to hear that I had not ever heard of Borg before the film or had any idea of how influential this match was, but now I have and I understand.
I was watching the film – perplexed and completely blown over by their history. They had all experienced doubt and failure, but they had achieved things we could not never dream of. Their quality of tennis was exhausting, even to just watch.
The film was exciting. At most I thought it would be a documentary but I was wrong and It beat all my expectations.
An amazing film about two of the greatest tennis players.
So was this the greatest match ever played?
