Logan Lucky review: the film that out wits Now you See Me and includes witty comedy on the side! (Spoiler Alert)

Logan Lucky was showing at the Tyneside Cinema on the day I wrote this, however it is now limited in showing times as it has been out. The film has an all star crew, including Channing Tatum and Daniel Craig.

The Plot

Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) planned to rob the vault from the Charlotte Motor Speedway and asked his brother Clyde and sister Mellie to help. Jimmy approached Joe Bang (Daniel Craig) during his prison sentence to assist in demolishing the underground pipes during the NASCAR race. Everything was going to plan however there were some complications and the FBI were on their tails.

My Thoughts

I found the film extremely entertaining! I was baffled by how clever and cunning the whole scheme and general plot was. All the characters were especially funny in their own ways.

I heard that Daniel Craig was a little different in this film and they were right. Bond went from hero to zero as Joe and looked as though he had let himself go bad in his black and white jail jumpsuit. His American accent was surprisingly good too and his one liners were second to none. If I had never seen James Bond, I would have scoffed in disbelief at the thought of him being suited up and gentlemanly .

Channing Tatum was a rather broken man in this film, as Jimmy. His life was falling apart, and he played it really well. I was not sure of his beard and scruffy worker dungarees though.. they didn’t look right on him or maybe that was because I have not seen him in a role like that before.

Overall

A heist that was beyond any of our imagination and that’s why I liked it. I am still not sure how it was done and I may have to see it again to pick up on those little details. It is definitely worth another see. Daniel Craig was award winning and Channing was the cherry on top of the cake. Brilliant!

Star Rating

I would splash out 4 stars for this film! Funny, clever and unbelievably entertaining to watch.

4 star rating Oh My Blog
